Self-Defence

From time to time we run Self-defence courses for members (mainly 12yrs plus) and also for non-karate groups.

Our regular 'Self-Defence only' class has now ceased and some techniques will be taught in all our Dojo from time to time along with Shotokan Karate which can be used for self-defence.

We teach self-defence techniques based on years of teaching martial arts (judo and karate) and pure self-defence for over 35 years.

Short courses

These classes are aimed at adults and adolescents (min. age 12 years).  Classes are aimed at those wanting to learn self-defence techniques but who would rather not join a martial arts club and wear traditional martial arts clothing (gi) and go through the formalities associated with martial arts.

Short courses ranging from 2-3 hours (in a morning / afternoon), 6 hours (e.g. over 2 half days), 12 hours (e.g. 2 hours per session over 6 sessions, evenings or half days) can be arranged.

Previous organisations who have benefitted from our short courses include

  • Cub Scouts
  • Bromley Adult Education College
  • Help the Hospices
  • The Girl Guides and Girls Brigade
  • Nakama Judo Club
  • Knights Karate Club
